Pantouflard Terms of Use
Effective date: October 27, 2026
Version: October 27, 2026
Language: this is an English translation, offered for your convenience. The French version, « Conditions d'utilisation », is the binding one.
In short
- The idea: Pantouflard is party games. The TV hosts the game, and phones are the controllers.
- The price: everything is free until November 30, 2026. After that, the paid games cost $9.99 a year + tax. Four games stay free, and guests never pay.
- Renewal: the subscription continues until you cancel it. We email you at least 30 days before each yearly payment.
- Cancelling: cancel any time with the "Cancel my subscription" button in "My account". If you cancel within 30 days after a renewal, we refund it in full.
- What you create: what you type, draw or photograph while playing stays in your living room. We never receive it.
- Party mode (« Mode soirée »): it's only for games where everyone is 18 or older.
This summary doesn't replace the terms below.
1. Who we are
Pantouflard is a service of Victor Conceptum Développement et Stratégie Web Inc., a Québec company that also does business as Pantouflard.
In these terms:
- "we" and "us" mean that company;
- "you" means you, the person using Pantouflard.
How to reach us
- Address: 303-164 Cowie, Granby, Québec J2G 3V3
- Phone: 450-305-0330
- Email: [email protected]
- Website: pantouflard.ca
2. What Pantouflard is
How you play
- Pantouflard is a party-game website at pantouflard.ca. There's nothing to install.
- The TV: a TV, or a computer connected to the TV, opens pantouflard.ca/tv. It hosts the game in its web browser.
- The phones: players join from their phones by scanning the QR code on screen, or by typing the game code.
How it works
- The phones connect directly to the TV (a technology called WebRTC).
- When a direct link isn't possible, the connection goes through a relay server. It stays encrypted.
- Our server only introduces the phones to the TV. The games themselves run in the TV's browser.
3. These terms and you
- Who accepts them: by using Pantouflard, you accept these terms.
- If you subscribe, you accept them when you pay, together with the information in section 6.1.
- Guests playing on their phones use Pantouflard too: the conduct rules (sections 9 and 12) apply to everyone.
- Your personal information: our Privacy Policy explains what we do with it. It's a separate document.
- Your rights stay whole: nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under Québec's Consumer Protection Act, the Civil Code of Québec or any other law that protects you and that can't be waived.
4. The free beta (until November 30, 2026)
- Everything is free: until November 30, 2026 inclusive (Montréal time), every game is free for everyone.
- Nothing gets billed by itself: we haven't asked for any card, so nothing will be charged when the beta ends.
- It's a beta:
- we're testing, fixing and adding games;
- games may change or disappear;
- there may be bugs. If you find one, tell us: it really helps.
- From December 1, 2026 (12:00 a.m., Montréal time), the paid games need a subscriber in the game, or a pass (sections 6 and 7).
- If we extend the beta, we'll announce it on pantouflard.ca.
5. What stays free
- Four games stay free, with no subscription, for as long as Pantouflard exists:
- Draw & Guess (« Dessine et devine »);
- Would You Rather (« Tu préfères… »);
- Most Likely To (« Le plus susceptible »);
- Free Canvas (« Toile libre »).
- Guests never pay. One subscriber in the game is enough for everyone.
- The 24-hour passes are free (section 7).
6. The subscription

6.2 What the subscription unlocks
- The games: all of Pantouflard's paid games, in the games where your phone, signed in to your account, is present.
- One game at a time:
- your subscription unlocks the game where your phone was seen most recently;
- if your phone goes to sleep, the game stays unlocked for about 10 minutes.
- A game that has started always finishes, even if you leave before the end.
- After you leave, the TV keeps the free games, but the paid games lock for the next rounds.
- Several phones: you can sign in to your account on several phones in your family or household.
- The catalogue changes: we add games and improve them. If we ever remove one, section 17 applies.
- Where we sell: for now, we sell the subscription only to people who live in Canada or the United States. Elsewhere, you can still play the free games and use the passes.
6.3 Price and taxes
The price: CA$9.99 a year, plus sales tax based on your billing address.
| If you live… | Tax | Yearly total |
|---|---|---|
| in Québec | GST 5% + QST 9.975% | $11.49 |
| in Ontario | HST 13% | $11.29 |
| in Nova Scotia | HST 14% | $11.39 |
| in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador or Prince Edward Island | HST 15% | $11.49 |
| in another province or a territory | GST 5% | $10.49 |
| in the United States | no Canadian tax | $9.99 |
- The exact total, tax included, is shown before you confirm your payment.
- Currency: prices are in Canadian dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it and may add its own fees.
- No other fees: there are no activation, late or cancellation fees.
6.4 Payment and term
- How you pay: by credit card, on the secure payment page of Stripe, our payment provider. We never see your card number.
- The first payment is made when you subscribe. Your access starts right away.
- After that: it's an indefinite-term subscription. It continues year after year until you cancel it. Each year, on the anniversary date, we charge $9.99 plus tax in advance to the same card.
- Receipts: you get a receipt by email after each payment.
- If a payment fails:
- we email you, and the payment is retried a few times;
- there are no late fees;
- if it still fails, the subscription ends and the paid games lock. You can subscribe again whenever you like.
6.5 The reminder before each renewal
We email you at least 30 days before each yearly payment. The email gives:
- the payment date;
- the amount;
- a link to cancel.
6.6 Cancelling
- When: any time, at no cost and without giving a reason.
- How: with the "Cancel my subscription" button in "My account". You get there from the ⋯ menu on your phone during a game, or on pantouflard.ca. You can also email us.
- What you choose when you cancel:
- keep access until the end of the year you've already paid for. No further payment will be taken;
- or stop right away and get a refund under section 6.7.
- Confirmation: we confirm the cancellation by email.
6.7 Refunds
- A renewal cancelled within 30 days of the payment is refunded in full, tax included. The subscription then ends.
- If you stop mid-year at any other time, we refund pro rata the part of the year you paid for and haven't used yet.
- Your rights for a contract made at a distance, on top of the above:
- if we didn't inform you properly: if, before you bought, we didn't give you all the information the law requires, you can cancel the contract within 7 days of receiving your copy of it. That becomes 30 days if we didn't send you the copy within 15 days;
- if your access doesn't start: if we don't give you access within 30 days, you can also cancel the contract.
- How you're refunded:
- within 15 days, to the card used to pay;
- if we don't refund you, you can ask your credit card issuer for a chargeback.
6.8 If we change the price
- The notice: we may change the subscription price. If we do, we email you a written notice at least 30 days
before. It gives:
- the new clause and the old one;
- the date of the change;
- your rights.
- When the new price applies: at your first renewal after the date of the change.
- Your right to refuse: if the price goes up, you can refuse the change by cancelling your subscription with no fee, penalty or cancellation charge. You tell us no later than 30 days after the change takes effect, and we refund the part of the year you haven't used.
7. The 24-hour passes
The basics
- Free, with no card: passes are free, we never ask for a card to get one, and they never turn into a paid subscription.
- You need an account to claim one (section 8).
The two kinds of pass
- "Your first party night is on us": one pass per new account.
- "Share Pantouflard, get 24 hours":
- one pass when you share Pantouflard from your phone;
- at most once every 3 months (90 days) per account;
- we trust you: we don't check what you shared. You don't have to say anything good about Pantouflard to get it.
How they work
- Length: a pass lasts 24 hours from the moment you claim it.
- What it unlocks: the paid games, exactly like a subscription. It's one game at a time: the one where your signed-in phone is.
- Their value: passes have no cash value, can't be sold and can't be exchanged.
- If they change: we may change the passes or stop offering them. A pass that has already started runs to the end.
8. Your account
- Signing in: you sign in with your email address. We send you a 6-digit code, valid for 10 minutes. There's no password.
- Age:
- you must be 14 or older to create an account;
- to subscribe (pay), you must be an adult (the age of majority where you live), or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Security:
- anyone with access to your mailbox can sign in to your account. Keep it secure;
- email us if you think someone else is using your account.
- Your address: use a valid email address that's yours.
- Several devices: you can be signed in on several phones in your family or household.
- Signing out: use "Sign me out" in "My account".
- Deleting your account: use "Delete my account" in "My account".
- It cancels your subscription and ends your access right away.
- The refunds in section 6.7 apply.
- What the law requires us to keep (invoices, for example) is kept as our Privacy Policy explains.
9. What you create while playing
It's yours, and it stays with you
- The names, answers, drawings, photos and words you enter while playing belong to you. We claim no rights over them.
- It stays in your living room:
- it goes from the phones to the TV and is erased when the game ends;
- the TV and phones keep only what's useful next time: names, colours and « Nos mots » (Our words).
- We don't receive this content, we don't see it and we don't keep it.
Everyone sees the screen. What shows on the TV is seen by everyone in the room. So please:
- no harassment, bullying, hateful remarks or hurtful mockery;
- no personal information about other people, like an address or a phone number;
- for photos (for example in Zoom Mystery): photograph objects. Don't photograph a person without their permission, or a child without their parents' permission, and nothing intimate;
- nothing illegal, and nothing sexual when children are playing.
Who's responsible?
- Each player is responsible for what they type, draw or show.
- We can't moderate what we can't see. It's up to the host and the players to keep the night fun.
- The host can close the game at any time.
10. The "Adults" tone and Party mode (18 and over)
- The tone: the host chooses it.
- "Family" suits everyone.
- "Adults" brings spicier prompts and votes that start arguments. It isn't meant for children.
- Party mode (« Mode soirée »): it's only offered with the "Adults" tone. In some games, it calls out "a sip" for some players.
- 18 and over: Party mode is only for games where everyone is 18 or older, or the legal drinking age where you
are if that's higher (21 in the United States).
- By turning it on, the host confirms that this is the case.
- We don't check players' ages: that responsibility belongs to the host.
- Sips, never more:
- water counts, and anyone can pass;
- nobody has to drink;
- don't drive after drinking, and plan a safe way home.
11. Children
- Family play: that's what Pantouflard is made for. Children can play with an adult's supervision.
- No account needed to play:
- a child only types a nickname, which stays on the TV and on the phone;
- we suggest a nickname rather than a full name.
- Ages for the rest:
- accounts and the news sign-up are for people 14 and older;
- the subscription is paid by an adult (section 8).
- The adults' role: they choose the tone ("Family" for children) and keep an eye on photos and on what gets typed.
12. Conduct rules
By using Pantouflard, you agree not to:
- get around the lock: try to get around the paid-game lock, or use someone else's account without their permission;
- resell: resell or rent out your subscription. It's for your family or household and your parties, office parties included;
- disrupt the service: overload, attack, probe or disrupt our servers, our API or the relay servers, for example with bots or mass requests;
- misuse the relays: use the API or the relay servers for anything other than playing Pantouflard;
- copy: copy our games, code or artwork to republish or distribute them (section 14);
- break the law: use Pantouflard for anything illegal.
If these rules are broken seriously or repeatedly, section 16 applies.
13. What you need to play
The equipment
- A TV with a recent web browser, or a device connected to the TV that has one: a computer, a tablet or a streaming stick, for example.
- Phones with a recent browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, etc.).
- An internet connection.
The limits
- Some TVs: some older smart TVs aren't compatible, for example Samsung TVs from 2018 or earlier. We keep testing others, and we list the limits we know of on the site. We can't guarantee that Pantouflard works on every device. Try the free games or a pass before you subscribe.
- Some networks: office, school or hotel networks block this kind of connection. The relay server helps, but not always.
If it doesn't work at your place: email us. We'll help. If we can't fix the problem, we'll refund you.
Availability
- We want Pantouflard to work at all times. There can still be outages, maintenance, or problems at our providers: hosting, relays, payments, email.
- If an outage keeps you from playing for a long time, email us: we'll find a fair solution, for example extending your subscription.
- This doesn't limit your legal remedies.
14. Intellectual property
- What belongs to us: Pantouflard belongs to Victor Conceptum, or to the people who licensed it to us. That includes the name, logo, mascots, games, text, questions, artwork, sounds and code.
- What you can do:
- use Pantouflard to play, at home or at your parties, office parties included. It's a personal, non-exclusive right that you can't transfer to someone else;
- show Pantouflard on your TV, and take and share photos or videos of your games. It's encouraged!
- What you can't do: copy our games, content or code to republish them or turn them into another product.
- Open word lists: some word lists come from open projects (SCOWL, Lexique, Grammalecte) and keep their own licences. Their authors and licences are listed in the list of sources.
- Your ideas: if you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Pantouflard without owing you anything.
15. Our responsibility
Our commitment: we commit to providing Pantouflard with care and skill, as these terms describe.
What doesn't depend on us: we aren't responsible, for example, for:
- your internet connection, your Wi-Fi, your TV, your phones or their browsers;
- what players type, draw or show during a game.
This in no way limits our responsibility for our own faults or for those of the people who work for us.
If you're a consumer: nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability beyond what the law allows. You keep every remedy under Québec's Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec.
If you use Pantouflard for a business, and not as a consumer:
- our total liability to your business is limited to the amount paid for Pantouflard in the previous 12 months, to the extent the law allows;
- this limit doesn't apply to intentional or gross fault, or to bodily or moral injury.
16. If we have to close an account or stop Pantouflard
- If the rules are broken seriously or repeatedly: harassment, attacks on the service, fraud, getting around the
lock, and so on.
- We may suspend or close the account involved.
- We'll tell you why by email, and you can reply.
- If you had a subscription, we refund the part of the year you haven't used.
- For any other reason, for example if we stop offering Pantouflard:
- we'll email you at least 60 days in advance;
- we'll refund the part of the year you paid for and didn't use.
17. Changes to these terms and to the service
What can change. Pantouflard evolves, and we may change these terms. Only the following can change:
- the subscription price (section 6.8);
- what the subscription includes: the paid games and features;
- the passes;
- the conduct rules;
- how you sign in;
- our providers.
If you're a subscriber, we email you a written notice at least 30 days before the change. It gives only:
- the new or changed clause, and its previous version;
- the date it takes effect;
- your rights.
Your right to refuse. If the change increases what you pay or reduces what we provide, you can refuse it by cancelling your subscription with no fee, penalty or cancellation charge. You tell us no later than 30 days after it takes effect. We then refund the part of the year you haven't used.
For everyone:
- the new version is published on pantouflard.ca with its date;
- for an important change, we also announce it on the site;
- a change that only adds something (a new game, for example) or fixes a mistake is simply published.
18. Governing law, language and disputes
- The law: these terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere, you also keep the protections of your local laws that can't be waived.
- A problem? Email us first, and we'll look for a solution with you. You can also go to:
- Québec's Office de la protection du consommateur (opc.gouv.qc.ca);
- the courts, including the Small Claims Division of the Court of Québec.
- Your remedies stay whole:
- no clause forces you into arbitration;
- nothing stops you from taking part in a class action.
- Language: these terms were first written and presented in French, and the French version is the binding one. This English version is a translation offered for your convenience.
- If a clause is invalid: if a court finds a clause invalid, the rest of the terms still apply.
